In a nutshell
Audio Visual — Digital Storytelling — workshop — Audio visual shows were a popular form of entertainment and often used in education. The audio visual often consisted a pair of projectors with a control unit that caused the slides to change in time to a sound track. Crossfading from one projector to the other enabled a limited range of visual effects. Today, the same results can be achieved with a variety of software, and offering a much greater range of special effects. Audio visual slideshows of the nineteen seventies, have evolved into a new genre: Digital Storytelling.

Composition Beyond the thirds — workshop There are more than a hundred compositional devices we can draw upon as photographers, but we’re often stuck in a rut with the rule of thirds, perhaps because it’s built into the camera.
Objective To introduce a variety of compositional approaches so that one can ‘read’ an image then go on to create one using different techniques.

Thinking in colour to see in black and white — workshop
We live in a visual world composed of colours and more colours. The origins of photography was based in black and white, and as such at least one step removed from reality. In our colourful world, black and white remains a popular medium to present images.
Objective — To introduce a variety of approaches and techniques that a photographer can use to analyse a scene — even before they raise the camera to their eye, so that the colour picture can be converted into a great monochrome image.

Encouraging a photographic eye — workshop Creating a photobook or album is a great way to keep memories alive such as a wedding or a vacation, to show your portfolio, or simply for the fun of it.
Objective — To encourage you to make your own photobook using an online service via your computer. For a professional looking result, you’ll need a few tricks up your sleeve — and that’s what this workshop gives you.

Preparing images for mono conversion — workshop
All monochrome mages start life in colour. But straightforward conversion often results in a disappointing image rather than the magical black and white.
Objective —This workshop gives you the underlying knowledge to help you prepare an image for conversion into monochrome.
